Clent is a boot camp graduate in the Spring of 2007. He is an inspiration to me, and I am sure he will be to you. Clent’s main problem was his weight, which was causing health problems. His initial weighing at the start of the boot camp was 391.5 lbs. He also had Type 2 diabetes and was on insulin medication. He had other medical problems as well. So we were very impressed when he lost 49.5 lbs in less than 8 weeks. His diabetes condition significantly improved and he was off insulin medication within 3-4 weeks. But he was relatively inexperienced in maintaining his weight loss at that time with the new lifestyle. We know that eating goes beyond biological pressure and physiological needs. Emotional aspects also influence our eating habits. I did not hear from Clent for several months after his graduation from boot camp. He later told me how miserable he was for failing to maintain his lifestyle. He assured me he still wanted to get back to doing what is right for his health. I knew deep within that he still had the inner drive to get back to the diet & lifestyle. I am acting as his personal trainer and technical support until he reaches his desired goal weight of 170 lbs by Christmas 2008. That will be 230 pounds lost in less than 1 year! NO PILLS and NO SURGERY! He hopes to join us in the fall of 2008 for our annual Mt. Whitney climb! By the way he has been off all medications since he changed his diet. As of October 11, 2008 (8.5 months later) Clent has lost 201 pounds. Keep up the good work Clent! You inspire us!
