Clent is a boot camp graduate in the Spring of 2007.  He is an inspiration to me, and I am sure he will be to you.  Clent’s main problem was his weight, which was causing health problems.  His initial weighing at the start of the boot camp was 391.5 lbs.  He also had Type 2 diabetes and was on insulin medication.  He had other medical problems as well.  So we were very impressed when he lost 49.5 lbs in less than 8 weeks.  His diabetes condition significantly improved and he was off insulin medication within 3-4 weeks.  But he was relatively inexperienced in maintaining his weight loss at that time with the new lifestyle.  We know that eating goes beyond biological pressure and physiological needs.  Emotional aspects also influence our eating habits.  I did not hear from Clent for several months after his graduation from boot camp.  He later told me how miserable he was for failing to maintain his lifestyle.  He assured me he still wanted to get back to doing what is right for his health.  I knew deep within that he still had the inner drive to get back to the diet & lifestyle.

In January 2008 I read a newsletter from my friend Victoria Boutenko about a woman who lost 127 lbs in 25 weeks from drinking green smoothies (thanks Victoria for sharing this web link!).  I thought it might interest Clent to know what a 100 percent raw diet lifestyle can do for him.  So I forwarded the web link to him.  To my pleasant surprise, he replied to report that he started on a similar program with the green smoothies the very next day.  He called his program The Green Smoothie Experiment II.  We modified the program to include the Hallelujah Diet juices to maximize nutrient cellular uptake.  He started out weighing 400.6 lbs.  The first week he lost 22 lbs!  Then the weight loss continued in rapid progression.  We communicated via email to monitor his progress.  There were many questions generated and I provided him with knowledge base and technical support, especially to reduce the possibility of overwhelming the organs, such as the liver from the detoxification.  Having gone through the boot camp he already had a good dietary and lifestyle foundation.  It was a good review and reinforcement for him to have personal support.

By March 29 (9 weeks) he had lost 75 lbs (325.4 lbs down from 400.6 lbs) WITHOUT EXERCISE.  That is an average of a little over 8 pounds per week! And he continues to lose weight at a rapid pace, but healthy as well, evidenced by good sleep and high energy!  He is also being monitored by his endocrinologist.  On May 4, 2008 he had lost 102 pounds.  That same day he went on the Get Healthy Boot Camp Phase II Exercise Program at a local gym.  Clent is still losing 20 pounds per month.  At week 29 he had lost 172 pounds.

I am acting as his personal trainer and technical support until he reaches his desired goal weight of 170 lbs by Christmas 2008.  That will be 230 pounds lost in less than 1 year!  NO PILLS and NO SURGERY!  He hopes to join us in the fall of 2008 for our annual Mt. Whitney climb!  By the way he has been off all medications since he changed his diet.  As of October 11, 2008 (8.5 months later) Clent has lost 201 pounds.  Keep up the good work Clent!  You inspire us!
